Her Side

On February 26th 2012, Nichole and I were at my house forcing ourselves to complete assignments before their deadlines. And that’s when it happened, He “slid into my DM’s”. I remember how I was in the midst of multiple feelings. Not the “love story, butterflies in my tummy” kind of feeling. It was more of a cross between “How is everyone in church sending me a Facebook friend request all at the same time, flooding my notifications” confused and “Why is this guy so excited that I found him on Facebook” weird. Little did I know, that my invitation to friendship on a social media platform was the first step on a journey of commitment.

Nosa (as I fondly call him), captured my attention in ways unbeknownst to him. It wasn’t his smile, although it a beautiful feature that is quite infectious. It wasn’t his laugh, even though it’s enough to swell in sound and space, distinctively contagious. Neither was it his looks, even though the man is fine!

At the time, being 20, it was his worship posture and character. Early in my own faith, this was something that was completely foreign. To see a young man that was unashamed in his walk with Christ could be compared to the feeling of walking into the warmth of a familiar safe haven. I was a bit more inclined to attempt unraveling what was then a compelling mystery in pursuit of something lasting. So I took it to Abba. As the days became weeks, and weeks became months, the confirmation that Steve was my husband was affirmed daily.

Through our low valley moments and our peaks, I’ve learned life’s greatest lesson with him. My greatest joy is marveling at the distance God has brought us. We have fallen many times on the journey to this moment and every time God brings us up, it’s always higher.  As a human, I’m entitled to being loved, but I know that Steve’s love for me is beyond measure. That alone is a prime example of the Grace of God. Although our wedding day is going to surpass our wildest dreams, our life together is the testimony of all time that is just waiting to manifest.

Nosakhare, thank you. For being obedient. For taking a stand with your faith. For being a father. For being my friend. For loving me on purpose. You’re one of God’s greatest gifts to me and I cherish you beyond words. Being your wife is really a dream come true. I can’t wait to live this miracle daily at your side. I love you King.

Story

His Side

Kemi gives me reasons to thank God, the assurance I have with her is priceless! She is a blessing that keeps blessing me! The love she has for me is one that I prayed for. She is the confirmation that the Lord is good to me.

She is my “at last.”

since setting my eyes on her in 2011, I knew my lonely days were over and life would be like a song, sweet and always ready to dance too.

I knew God loved me, because he granted me the ability to see my dream love while awake. So rare to find a love with reservation.

“I get to love what I dreamed of!”

God made me a family man early and knew I had to rededicate my life to Christ …but to receive Kemi is definitely more than I asked for. That’s why I have and will keep her with all my abilities and heart. This is a union that is taking place this spring,  it is a breakthrough and my personal testimony.

Thank you, Ms. Janet Oluwafadekemi Akerele, for loving me and thank you God for blessing me
